Professor Diana Rakhmawaty Eddy leads the Functional Inorganic Materials and Photocatalysis Research Group (FIMP Group) in the Department of Chemistry at Universitas Padjadjaran, Indonesia. Her research focuses on the synthesis, modification, and application of inorganic and hybrid materials, particularly their roles in environmental treatment and related functional applications.
Her work explores metal oxides, silica-based systems, and composite materials, examining how composition, phase structure, and surface properties influence adsorption and photocatalytic behaviour. Published studies include plant-assisted synthesis of TiO₂, multiphase photocatalysts, ZnO/SiO₂ composites, zinc silicate materials, and waste-derived magnetic adsorbents.
She guides a research group whose interests extend to metal–organic frameworks for adsorption, gas separation, and antibacterial applications, alongside hydrogen evolution, piezo-photocatalysis, chemical and gas sensing, and self-cleaning surfaces. Through these activities, FIMP Group seeks to connect materials design with a deeper understanding of function and contribute to a cleaner and more sustainable future.
Her coauthored sensing studies include Digital Image Colorimetry for liquid-phase analytes, connecting nanoparticle or MOF-based colour responses with smartphone image analysis.
